Canada is one of the most welcoming countries in the world. With its constant growth, an immigrant can easily adapt and contribute to the country, as well as achieve personal development. The high standards of living, ethnic diversity, world class education and high per capita income attract young people who are looking for a chance to change the pace of their life.

Coming to Canada to pursue higher education often pays off with a job and sometimes a landed immigrant status. A degree, diploma or any such education from a government accredited institution qualifies you to work in Canada with an open work permit that lasts equal to or greater than the length of your course. Though this opportunity comes at the cost of the fees that an international student has to pay, the scope of learning amidst the multicultural crowd gives international students a broader perspective on matters and provides a vast exposure into the ways of the world.

One of the key factors that could turn your education into a job opportunity is ‘networking’. The importance of sticking to your primary field of education, networking with your industry peers and establishing yourself cannot be emphasized more.

“I only spent one month looking for a job after graduation, the reason why is because I built a social web in Canada, inside and outside of Centennial College. They guided me to job postings and interview opportunities so that I had many job possibilities. Social networking is important for international students” affirms Luona Su, Centennial College Accounting Graduate, employed full-time by an airline company in Canada.

“Centennial College really helped me to perform effectively and adapt well in my job. For example, I studied the ways of bookkeeping, claiming tax and statistics” adds Su.

Dedication, willpower, hard work and, most importantly, smart work will definitely provide a kick-start to a new track in the journey of life for those who want to work in Canada!
